Children's personal information rules

These rules explain how Evan's World handles information about children under 14. A parent or guardian must read and actively agree before creating a child profile.
Who is responsible
For the Mainland China launch, the intended local operator is 汕头市朔禾智能科技有限公司. Privacy and data-rights requests can be sent to library@pulseintelligences.com.
Information we handle
Parent account: email, account and secure-session identifiers. Child profile: nickname, optional birth year and avatar. Child activity: Keepsakes, quiz answers, learning progress, creations, private approved-friend messages and settings. When a parent or child chooses a creation feature, we also process object photos, short voice recordings or typed prompts. We refuse photos of people.
Why we need it
We use this information only to authenticate the parent, provide the private family service, personalise learning, create requested content, keep approved-friend features working, prevent abuse, answer support requests and meet legal obligations. We do not sell it, use behavioural advertising or train models on children's source photos.
Sensitive information and separate consent
Chinese law treats all personal information about a child under 14 as sensitive. Photos and voice recordings are used only when the family chooses those features. We ask the guardian for separate, affirmative consent before the first child profile is created. Refusing means we cannot create that profile under the current service architecture.
Processing outside Mainland China
Until Evan's World completes its Mainland China hosting migration, account, learning, safety-screening and generation data may be processed outside Mainland China, including Singapore and other locations used by our contracted cloud and AI service providers. We ask for separate guardian consent to this cross-border processing. The minimum required data is sent, and source photos are deleted after the Keepsake is made.
How long information stays
Rejected photos are deleted immediately. Accepted source photos are deleted after generation. Temporary voice uploads are retained only as needed to answer the request. Profiles, generated Keepsakes, learning history and private family content remain until the parent deletes the item, child profile or account. Limited security records may be retained only as legally or operationally necessary.
Guardian and child rights
A guardian can review and delete child profiles and the whole family account in the Grown-ups area, or contact us to request access, a copy, correction, restriction, withdrawal of consent or deletion. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing, but some features may stop working. We will verify that the requester controls the parent account.
Safety and sharing
Profiles are private and nickname-only. There is no public child search, stranger messaging, advertising or third-party tracking SDK in the native app. Approved service providers receive only what they need to operate hosting, email, safety checks and requested generation, under access and confidentiality controls.
Changes and complaints
If these rules change materially, we will ask the guardian to consent to the new version. Questions or complaints can be sent to library@pulseintelligences.com with “Evan's World child privacy” in the subject. A guardian may also complain to the competent regulator.
